For this reason, ingearWhen designing the product, calculate the strength or hardness that the product should have based on the contact stress and bending stress, so that the carbon content range of the steel can be roughly selected.
Finished selecting the hardenability that the material should have based on the strength and the effective cross-section of the gear, that is, the effective cross-section during heat treatment hardening.

When the material and section are constant, the higher the hardness, the lower the toughness and plasticity of the gear.
