The 4 stages of the gear punching deformation process: material compression deformation stage, material shearing stage, crack growth stage and material separation stage are explained as follows, for reference and understanding.
gearThe process of punching the teeth is the process of separating the sheets.The material at the separation point goes through four stages, namely the material compression and deformation stage, the material shearing stage, the crack growth stage and the material separation stage, as follows.
1. Material compression deformation stage
The surface of the material is under tensile and compressive stress; the material close to the cavity of the mold is tilted upward;
Material deformation is within the range of elastic deformation.

2. Material shearing stage
The material starts to slip under pressure, and tensile force and bending moment are generated inside the material. Due to the existence of the gap, the material near the punch is bent and deformed, and shear begins to appear.

3. Crack growth stage
The material continues to be under pressure, the slippage continues, and the material cracks at the edges of the convex and concave molds gradually increase.

4. Material separation stage
The material cracks at the convex and concave molds continue to increase and the cracks develop and merge to separate the materials.
