The principle and process of chemical deburring of small modulus gears are explained as follows, for reference and understanding.
Principle of chemical deburring:
TogearThe blank is protected by copper coating and then cut the tooth profile to expose the tooth surface and burrs.Etching with an acid solution that does not chemically react to copper will cause the acid to corrode. Because the burrs are loose relative to the tooth surface, they will be corroded and peeled off to achieve the effect of deburring.
Chemical deburring process:
1. The gear blank is coated with copper
There are two copper coating liquids for copper coating: acid copper coating electrolyte and cyanide copper coating electrolyte, as shown in the figure.

2. The copper-coated blanks must be cleaned after mechanical processing, and then put in a deburring liquid to soak and remove burrs.
There are two types of deburring corrosives: strong and weak, as shown in the figure.

3. After deburring, the workpiece must be immersed in the secondary neutralization water, and the copper should be returned.
The second neutralization water and copper removal liquid are shown in the figure.

4. Soak in neutralized water, dehydrated and dried with alcohol.
Chemical deburring is suitable for removing small burrs, and the corrosion of the tooth surface is related to time and material. The burr height is generally 0.001~0.003mm.
