1. Gear grinding

4. Shaving processing
In principle, gear shaving is a generative process. The tool used is a gear shaving cutter. Its shape is very similar to a helical cylindrical gear. The tooth profile is very accurate, and many small grooves are opened on the tooth surface to form Cutting edge.
In the process of meshing with the machined gear, the numerous cutting edges on the tooth surface of the shaving cutter shave the filamentary chips from the surface of the workpiece, which improves the accuracy of the tooth profile and reduces the roughness of the tooth surface, as shown in the figure.
